UK-based Echo Engine are a jazz/ambient/groove/electronica trio formed by keyboardist Daniel Biro, groove-generator Adrian Newton and guitarist Rob Palmer who regularly embark on improvised, exploratory, mind-reading excursions, often inviting special guests to join them on their travels. These live ‘happenings’ are recorded and then carefully edited, mixed and remodelled into new, more composed sound collages. Capturing the moment, then giving it structure. On ‘I’ll Be Here’ the trio is augmented by special guests Jon Lloyd (sax), Pascal Consoli (drums) and Joe Limburn (acoustic bass).

Biro and Palmer have been working together for many years, playing live regularly and releasing 'The Long Journey Home' album (Sargasso SCD28050) in 2004, Newton recently joined them and, inspired by his fresh approach to live electronics and groove creation, the trio decided to formalise their collaboration under the Echo Engine banner. Their first album, 'Windjammer' (BSF1001/12 - 2014) featured sax/flute player Theo Travis, best known for his collaborations with Robert Fripp, David Sylvian, Steven Wilson, Gong and Soft Machine.

Echo Engine's influences range from early Weather Report experimentations to ECM-style electronica (Nils Petter Molvaer, etc) to Aphex Twin ambient grooves. But, ultimately, Echo Engine is a unique distillation of the creative personalities involved.
